本種は本州から記録があるが、日本に広く分布していると思われる。本州では山地のホタルブクロやサラシナショウマなど様々な植物の花に普通に見られる海外では台湾、インド、ネパールに分布する。ヨーロッパに分布するT. picipes (Zetterstedt, 1828)、T. orchidii Ananthakrishnan, 1968との識別が不明瞭でさらなる研究が必要である。

This species has been recorded from Honshu, but probably widspread in Japan, and occurs on the flowers of many kinds of plants such as Campanula punctata, Cimicifuga simplex at mountainous areas in Honshu. It was described from Taiwan and is also distributed in Nepal and India. It can not be distinguished from T. picipes (Zetterstedt, 1828) and T. orchidii Ananthakrishnan, 1968, satisfactorily and further studies about these species are needed.
